“You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil—the commander of the powers in the unseen world. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God. All of us used to live that way, following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature we were subject to God’s anger, just like everyone else.” Ephesians 2:2-3 Have you seen or met anyone fitting this description lately? People who refuse to obey God? Those who obey the devil? Ones who so easily give in to whatever feels good or makes them happy, no matter how evil it may be? Have you seen decline in society? I've heard many ask "what is happening to this world?" Remember that you used to be a part of the problem with this world! We were all once completely lost in sin and obeying the devil, before Jesus saved us. Thank God we are now the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus (1 Cor 5:17) and not disgusting, vile sinners any longer.
As I’ve been praying about 2021 and I asked the Lord to tell me “What do YOU want to do, Lord?” I keep hearing him say, as well as sensing in my spirit, that Revival is coming and it is time for the people of God to get to WORK! You see, revival is not just a bunch of people getting saved. It’s a bunch of people being raised from the dead and re-created in Christ into new beings. “We are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” Eph 2:10 When those devil obeying, weak-kneed people we were talking about earlier get saved, they are re-created into beautiful, righteous, children of God. Then, by the power of Jesus Christ, they are set free from sexual sins, hate, murder, substance abuse, and all sorts of other sins. They are created anew! Revival is people believing in Jesus in large numbers, and as a result, the evil and injustices in our society begin to disappear. Every great revival throughout history has been marked by great societal impact. Social assistance ministries were started. Women and minorities were given opportunities that they didn’t have before. Laws that honored God were enacted. Education was made available to all. Missionaries were sent to previously unreached areas.
