In many parts of the world, people work each day to earn just enough money to put food on the table for their families. If they aren't able to work, then their families go hungry. We want to take this opportunity to help those in desperate need of food during this world-wide pandemic and lock-down. Through donations from you, we were able to send a large donation to him to continue distributing food to families in Nepal.
Because nations all over the world have been experiencing stay-home or quarantine orders, the very poor have been left without even the most basic necessities. When we heard about this it broke our hearts. We can't feed everyone, but we knew we had to do something. We reached out to our friend in Nepal. Ricky had traveled and ministered with Pastor Deveraj Bhandari on many occasions, so we knew he would be able to help us.
Pastor Devaraj informed us that in they have been in lock-down since March 25th. He, his family, and his orphanage are doing okay right now as they bought a enough food before the government enforced quarantine began. They have been working with former students of their bible school, and with the government, to buy and distribute food to families in great need. Many families could not afford to buy food because they work to earn enough each day to feed their family, and being out of work for so long has emptied their cupboards. He told us that his ministry had already been helping the government distribute food to the most needy. He had already been working with the government to provide rice, lentils, cooking oil, salt, and some other food items to 43 families in his area. His ministry sent some money to one of their bible school graduates who is also doing church planting ministry in west Nepal; they provided basic necessities to 28 families there. They have contacts in south Nepal and east Nepal and have already identified families in need there. For about $15 to $20 they can feed a family for a week. Through donations from you, we were able to send a large donation to him to continue distributing food to families in Nepal.
