by Sarah Leonard Overwhelmingly Victorious!: that’s you! (Romans 8:37) That truth doesn’t change based on how we are feeling. We stand and fight because that’s what we do, and we always win the fight because that is who we are! Our identity is determined by what God says about us, not by our past or by our current situation. Your thoughts and feelings may not line up with that truth at times, you may even have been knocked down while endeavoring to triumph, but in God’s mind, it’s never over until you have won the fight. When you know that Christ always leads us in triumph (2 Corinthians 2:14), then you can face anything the devil wants to throw at you, and you can laugh and say “Is that all you’ve got!?” You’ve got to get rid of the “quit” mindset. When thoughts come like “I can’t do it” or “it’s too much for me” remember that Christ paid the price for you to win, and He will lead you in the victory. You’re not facing this on your own, and you’re not helpless or empty-handed. Colossians 2:15 says “in this way, he (Jesus) disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross.” What do you do when you feel like a failure? What do you do when it seems like all hope is lost? You stand. You fight. Ephesians 6:13 (NLT) says “put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.” Spend time reading and meditating on the Bible. Remind yourself of the promises of God, and of His faithfulness to you in your past. Since He sent his son to die for your sins and make you right with Himself, why would He not give you everything else? (Romans 8:32) His armor? Righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, the word of God, and prayer. Think about it: you already have all of these. Time to activate them. Pick up that faith shield and block those darts! God says you win—so STAND FIRM.
